En marge de la COP29, le Pr\u00e9sident Faure Essozimna Gnassingb\u00e9 a pr\u00e9sid\u00e9, le 13 novembre 2024, le second sommet africain pour le climat, confirmant le r\u00f4le central du Togo dans les discussions climatiques sur le continent. Invit\u00e9 d\u2019honneur de cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement, il a saisi l\u2019occasion pour promouvoir une diplomatie togolaise active et renforcer les positions communes des pays africains dans les n\u00e9gociations climatiques internationales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Au cours de ce sommet de haut niveau, le Pr\u00e9sident Gnassingb\u00e9 a soulign\u00e9 la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019approches sp\u00e9cifiquement africaines pour relever les d\u00e9fis climatiques, en se basant sur les potentialit\u00e9s naturelles du continent et en proposant des solutions d\u2019investissement contextualis\u00e9es. \u00ab Il faut n\u00e9cessairement penser des solutions sp\u00e9cifiquement africaines, des approches sur mesure prenant en compte les infrastructures de base d\u00e9centralis\u00e9es, les potentiels naturels et les priorit\u00e9s fondamentales de d\u00e9veloppement \u00bb, a-t-il affirm\u00e9, pr\u00f4nant une vision adapt\u00e9e aux r\u00e9alit\u00e9s locales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Le chef de l\u2019\u00c9tat a \u00e9galement salu\u00e9 la D\u00e9claration de Nairobi ainsi que les politiques nationales qui visent \u00e0 favoriser un acc\u00e8s \u00e9quitable aux financements pour l\u2019Afrique. Convaincu que le continent doit jouer un r\u00f4le de premier plan dans la transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique mondiale, il a encourag\u00e9 les investissements accrus dans les \u00e9nergies renouvelables, affirmant que \u00ab l\u2019Afrique n\u2019est pas seulement une r\u00e9gion n\u00e9cessitant du soutien ; elle est aussi un acteur potentiel de la transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique mondiale. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reconnu pour son engagement en faveur de l\u2019int\u00e9gration africaine, le Pr\u00e9sident Gnassingb\u00e9 a exhort\u00e9 les dirigeants africains \u00e0 faire preuve de leadership et \u00e0 adopter une position unifi\u00e9e dans les n\u00e9gociations climatiques. \u00ab Il est plus important que jamais de d\u00e9montrer un leadership africain, en parlant d\u2019une seule voix. Une Afrique unie est une voix puissante rappelant que le d\u00e9veloppement durable et l\u2019action climatique doivent se faire dans la paix \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Faisant preuve d\u2019optimisme pour l\u2019avenir du continent, Faure Gnassingb\u00e9 a rendu hommage \u00e0 la r\u00e9silience des nations africaines face aux d\u00e9fis environnementaux et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lan d\u2019innovation qui marque leur d\u00e9veloppement, consolidant ainsi la vision d\u2019une Afrique forte et proactive sur la sc\u00e8ne climatique mondiale<\/p>\n\n\n\n
