New Cataract Surgery Campaign in Kpalimé: SANURA Restores Sight through 100 Successful Cataract Cases with Financial Support from AMOUD
The SANURA Humanitarian Association continues its mission to restore sight and hope to people suffering from preventable blindness. On Monday, November 10th, 2025, SANURA organized a new round of free cataract surgeries at the Regional Hospital Center (CHR) of Kpalimé, located in the Plateaux Region of Togo.
Thanks to the financial support of its partner AMOUD, 100 cataract cases were successfully operated on by a dedicated medical team, assisted by SANURA’s committed volunteers. This new campaign demonstrates the association’s ongoing efforts to fight vision loss caused by cataracts one of the leading causes of blindness in Togo.
“Each restored sight is another victory for humanity. We sincerely thank our partner AMOUD for their trust and continuous support in this noble mission,” said a SANURA representative.
This initiative follows previous successful operations conducted by SANURA in Anié and Kougnowou, further strengthening the association’s determination to expand its humanitarian impact and make quality eye care accessible to vulnerable communities across the country.

Despite these achievements, many cases remain in need of medical assistance in other regions. SANURA therefore launches a call for solidarity and partnership, inviting institutions, organizations, and benevolent individuals to join this compassionate and life-changing endeavor.
To see again is to live again, to regain dignity, freedom, and hope.
With the steadfast support of AMOUD and the dedication of its team, SANURA reaffirms its commitment to serving the most vulnerable and restoring light to those who have long lived in darkness.
