Ramadan 2026: Fourth Weekend of Generosity – SANURA Spreads Warmth with NASIMCO and Abdullah Aid

As the holy month of Ramadan enters its fourth and most spiritually intense weekend, SANURA Association continues to turn generosity into action. With the support of two remarkable international partners, we have once again brought warmth, dignity, and nourishment to hundreds of families and passersby in Lomé. This weekend’s operations focused on two complementary forms of aid: dry food kits to support families at home and hot meals for those on the move at sunset.

Hundreds of Food Kits Distributed with NASIMCO

Thanks to the generous funding of NASIMCO, a long-standing humanitarian partner based in America, SANURA was able to distribute hundreds of dry food kits to families in need across several neighborhoods of Lomé. Each kit was carefully assembled to cover the essential needs of a family for several days, including:

• Rice
• Cooking oil
• Flour
• Canned goods and other staples

The goal? To facilitate the breaking of the fast at home, allowing families to prepare their Iftar meals with peace of mind, without worrying about missing ingredients.

« Knowing that we have food at home for the whole week means we can focus on prayer and worship. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, » shared a mother who received a kit in the Adidogomé area.

Hot Meals at Crossroads with Abdullah Aid

While food kits help families at home, SANURA also thought of those who are far from home at the hour of Iftar. With the support of Abdullah Aid, we distributed hot meals at busy crossroads and intersections across Lomé. These meals were offered to:

• Motorcycle taxi riders still working
• Pedestrians rushing home
• Street vendors and workers unable to reach their families in time

At sunset, as the city slowed down, SANURA volunteers were stationed at key intersections, handing out warm, nutritious meals to anyone in need. For many, this simple act turned a moment of exhaustion into a moment of gratitude.

« I was stuck in traffic and thought I would break my fast with just water. Then I saw the SANURA team. This meal made my day, » said a grateful commuter.
