Ramadan 2026: Third Weekend of Generosity, SANURA Brings Warm Meals and Food Packs to Lomé’s Heart
As the blessed month of Ramadan reaches its third weekend, SANURA Association continues to spread warmth and solidarity across Lomé. With the generous support of two key financial partners, we have intensified our efforts to ensure that no fasting person breaks their fast empty-handed.

»This weekend marked a new milestone in our Ramadan campaign, with two major operations running in parallel: the distribution of 2,000 hot Iftar meals and the delivery of 150 dry food packs to vulnerable families. » said the president Hadj MOROU Abdoul- Rasheed
2,000 Iftar Meals Distributed Near Major Mosques in Lomé

Thanks to the generous funding of Human Development Fund (HDF), SANURA was able to offer 2,000 hot Iftar meals to worshippers and passersby at the hour of breaking the fast. The meals were strategically distributed near two of the most frequented mosques in the capital:
- The Grand Mosque of BTCI (Banque Togolaise pour le Commerce et l’Industrie)
- The University of Lomé Mosque
At sunset, as the call to prayer echoed, volunteers from SANURA were on the ground, handing out nutritious meals with smiles and warmth. Students, workers, and families alike were able to break their fast with dignity and gratitude.

« It’s not just about food. It’s about feeling that someone cares. Seeing the joy in people’s eyes at the moment of Iftar is priceless, » shared one of volunteers on site.
150 Dry Food Packs Distributed with Helping Hand
Alongside the hot meal distributions, SANURA also delivered 150 dry food packs to families in need across several neighborhoods of Lomé. This initiative was made possible thanks to the unwavering support of our partner Helping Hand for Relief and Development. Each food pack contained essential staples to support a family for several days, including:

- Bags of rice
- Cooking oil
- Flour and other non-perishable goods
These packs were carefully assembled and delivered directly to households identified by our field teams, ensuring that the aid reaches those who need it most.
The collaboration with Helping Hand reflects a shared commitment to transparency, efficiency, and human dignity, values that are at the core of every SANURA action. SANURA extends its deepest thanks to:

- Human Development Fund (HDF) for funding 2,000 Iftar meals and making the mosque distributions possible.
- Helping Hand for Relief and Development for their trust and support in providing 150 dry food packs to families in Lomé.
Your partnership is the backbone of this mission. Together, we are proving that solidarity has no borders and that Ramadan is a time for sharing, caring, and uplifting one another.
The needs remain great. As we enter the final stretch of Ramadan, we invite companies, institutions, and individuals to join us in making a difference. Whether through Zakat, Sadaqah, or corporate sponsorship, your support can help us reach more families, distribute more meals, and bring more smiles.
